DARU, an app designed to improve firefighting efforts in Jakarta, has been\u00a0featured in the\u00a0Atlas of Innovation for Economic Stability<\/a>.<\/b><\/p>\n

Developed by\u00a0Radya Labs<\/a>\u00a0with the support of the Web Foundation\u2019s\u00a0Open Data Lab Jakarta<\/a>,\u00a0DARU is\u00a0designed to deliver crucial information and visualise rescue plans in real-time using data from the Jakarta open data portal. This gives the fire department a bird\u2019s eye view of in-field rescue operations, so they can act quickly and effectively.<\/p>\n

DARU\u2019s prototype is being used by Jakarta\u2019s Fire Department, and, in the future, the information generated by DARU will be integrated into the Jakarta Smart City service app, which aims to deliver public information to Jakarta\u2019s citizens.<\/p>\n

Published by FHI 360 with support from the Rockefeller Foundation,\u00a0the Atlas<\/a>\u00a0features more than sixty innovations from around the world that help individuals, communities, and countries continue to survive and prosper in the face of economic volatility. We\u2019re thrilled to see Radya Labs\u2019 work recognised in the Atlas and we hope that other cities in Indonesia and beyond will step up an adopt similar open data technologies that improve service delivery and empower citizens.<\/p>\n

DARU is one of three incubated projects from our\u00a0\u201cInnovating for Open Cities\u201d<\/a>\u00a0initiative, a project supported by\u00a0Making All Voices Count<\/a>\u00a0that aims to create not just \u201csmart\u201d, but \u201copen cities\u201d, using technology and data to promote people-centred urban areas.<\/p>\n
