Training Sessions and Workshops
BACKGROUND
Open data is still in its infancy, and the knowledge and skills to supply and use open data, as well as assess the effectiveness of open data initiatives, is still limited among governments, civil society groups, and donor organisations.
Using participatory and interactive approaches including group lectures, workshops, and case study discussions, we engage with participants in our courses to build understanding of the underlying concepts and intended outcomes of open data for positive change. We work with various organisations to provide critical insights, and discover opportunities to explore the potential benefits and risks of open data initiatives. We also conduct simulation exercises for funding organisations on assessing open data project proposals.
